Bath County Ghost Walk 2026

A Spirited Evening in Warm Springs: The 2026 Bath County Ghost Walk

More than 170 tickets were sold for Preservation Bath's 2026 Bath County Ghost Walk, an evening of history, storytelling, and a few spooky encounters along the moonlit streets of Warm Springs Village. The event brought Bath County's past to life through stories drawn from local history, offering visitors an entertaining and sometimes eerie glimpse into the people, places, and events that have shaped the community.

Months of preparation went into the evening, with Preservation Bath's board members and volunteers researching local stories, developing scripts, recruiting and rehearsing storytellers, selling tickets, and coordinating the many details needed to make the event both enjoyable and safe. Along the way, the Ghost Walk became an opportunity to explore some of the county's lesser-known history and share it in a way that was engaging, memorable, and just a little unsettling.

The response was enthusiastic. Guests praised the stories and the talented storytellers who brought them to life, as well as the atmosphere of Warm Springs after dark. Tours concluded at Cider Park, where visitors gathered for hot spiced cider and refreshments beside an eerie, green-glowing cauldron filled with stewing bones and skeletons, a fitting conclusion to an evening of ghostly tales.

After the final tour, Oakley Farm generously opened the Foodlore space in the North Stable for the volunteers, actors, and guides to gather for a covered-dish supper. It was a welcome opportunity to relax, share stories of the evening, and celebrate the efforts of everyone who helped make the event a success.

Preservation Bath is grateful to the many volunteers, performers, supporters, and community members who contributed their time, talents, and enthusiasm. The Ghost Walk reflects an important part of the organization's mission: finding creative and enjoyable ways to explore Bath County's history while bringing the community together around the places and stories that make it distinctive.

And the stories aren't finished! Ideas for the 2027 Bath County Ghost Walk are already bubbling over. If you'd like to help research stories, perform, guide tours, or volunteer in another capacity, we'd love to hear from you at info@preservationbath.org.

Thank you to everyone who made this year's Ghost Walk such a spirited success. Stay tuned for what may be lurking around the corner in 2027!
